TradingPLUS Fast Track vs Standard Challenge: The Real Numbers Compared

Two paths to a funded account. Very different rules, very different fees, and a profit split that most people assume is the same but isn't. This comparison uses only the confirmed numbers from the TradingPLUS platform — no estimates.

The Fee Difference

The first thing traders notice is the fee gap. Here's exactly what each route costs for the same account size:

$10,000 Standard Challenge:  $89  — fee refunded on funded stage

$10,000 Fast Track:  $500  — non-refundable

$25,000 Standard Challenge:  $249  — fee refunded on funded stage

$25,000 Fast Track:  $1,250  — non-refundable

$50,000 Standard Challenge:  $349  — fee refunded on funded stage

$50,000 Fast Track:  $2,500  — non-refundable

$100,000 Standard Challenge:  $549  — fee refunded on funded stage

$100,000 Fast Track:  $5,000  — non-refundable

$200,000 Standard Challenge:  $1,049  — fee refunded on funded stage

$200,000 Fast Track:  $10,000  — non-refundable

Key difference: Standard evaluation fees are refunded when you reach the funded account stage. Fast Track fees are not. Factor this into the real cost of each route before deciding.

The Rules Are Not the Same

This is the part most traders miss. Fast Track and standard challenge funded accounts run on different rule sets. The profit split is higher on Fast Track, but the drawdown limits are tighter.

STANDARD CHALLENGE — Funded Account Rules

Daily Loss Limit:  5%  of account balance

Maximum Drawdown:  10%  from starting balance — static

Profit Split:  Up to 80%

First Withdrawal:  After 14 trading days

Weekend Holding:  Allowed

News Trading:  Allowed

EA / Automation:  Allowed

FAST TRACK — Funded Account Rules

Daily Drawdown:  3%  of account balance — tighter

Maximum Drawdown:  5%  trailing from peak — tighter and trailing

Profit Split:  Up to 90%  higher than standard

First Withdrawal:  After 14 trading days

Weekend Holding:  Not allowed  positions must close by Friday

News Trading:  Not allowed  ±2 minutes around high-impact events

EA / Automation:  Not allowed

The Drawdown Difference in Dollar Terms

The percentage difference looks modest until you translate it into dollars. On a $25,000 account:

  • Standard challenge daily limit: $1,250 per day
  • Fast Track daily drawdown: $750 per day
  • Standard max drawdown: $2,500 from starting balance (static)
  • Fast Track max drawdown: $1,250 trailing from peak balance

The Fast Track trailing drawdown is the more important difference. As your balance grows, the floor rises with it. If you build to $26,000, your floor moves to $24,750. You cannot "bank" profits and then absorb a larger drawdown. The cushion stays fixed in dollar terms regardless of how much you've made.

The 30% Consistency Rule

Both account types are subject to TradingPLUS's 30% Consistency Rule on the funded account, effective 12 August 2025. Your highest profit day cannot exceed 30% of your total profit at the point of any withdrawal request.

If your total funded account profit is $1,000 and you made $400 of that in a single session, your withdrawal will be flagged for inconsistency. This rule applies to both partial and full profit withdrawals and cannot be circumvented by waiting.

Consistent daily gains across multiple sessions will always satisfy this rule more easily than a strategy that produces large occasional wins.

The Opportunity Cost Calculation

The standard challenge fee is lower but involves a waiting period. Here's how to think about it:

A $25,000 standard challenge typically takes two to four weeks to pass. During that time, you're not yet earning from a funded account. At 3% monthly return with an 80% split, that's roughly $150 per week in potential earnings sitting idle.

The Fast Track premium for a $25,000 account is $1,001 more than the standard challenge ($1,250 vs $249). At $150 per week opportunity cost, that premium equates to about six to seven weeks of waiting. If you'd take longer than that to pass the challenge, Fast Track starts to look economically competitive — especially when you factor in the 90% vs 80% split on the funded account.

Run this calculation for your own account size and realistic challenge timeline before deciding.

Which One Is Right for You

Standard challenge suits you if:

  • You want to minimise upfront cost — the fee is refundable if you pass
  • You use automation, EAs, or trade news events as part of your strategy
  • You hold positions over weekends
  • You're newer to prop trading and the challenge structure provides useful accountability
  • You can realistically pass both phases within four to six weeks

Fast Track suits you if:

  • You have a proven live account track record and want immediate funded access
  • You trade manually without automation and close all positions by Friday
  • You avoid trading around news events already
  • The 90% profit split on Fast Track meaningfully improves your monthly income versus 80% on standard
  • The time cost of a four to six week challenge is worth more to you than the fee premium

Is the TradingPLUS Fast Track fee refundable?

No. Fast Track fees are non-refundable. Standard evaluation challenge fees are refunded when you reach the funded account stage.

Does TradingPLUS Fast Track have a higher profit split?

Yes. Fast Track funded accounts offer up to 90% profit split. Standard evaluation funded accounts offer up to 80%.

What is the 30% consistency rule on TradingPLUS?

Can I use an EA on TradingPLUS standard challenge accounts?

Yes. Automated trading systems are permitted on standard evaluation and funded accounts. They are not permitted on Fast Track accounts.
